UGH!

Had a terrible day. 2/27/10 got housework done early so I could take my dad to lunch at Toby Keith's new restaurant. Tried to back out of my driveway and my back up beepers were going off, looked in my rear view mirror and saw a huge snowball, got out of my car to find 2 ft. plus of snow piled up in my driveway on purpose by some lawn guy, even tore up my grass. Called the association President to get the lawn guy who does the streets to come take a look at his handywork. 1 1/2 hours later standing outside so I wouldn't miss him, he said it wasn't his guys but did clean a path so I could get out. I got over to my dads house and in the mail addressed to me was something that totally pushed me over the edge crying, an envelope with a Betty Boop with angel wings, how sad.

We go up to Toby's and was told it isn't open yet, Bob told her how the voice mail message says it's open 11-2 and she said not until Monday Bob told her to take off the voice mail this is the 2nd time we have tried to get in there to eat, so we just took my dad to Big Boy. Rough day that pin sent me over the moon in tears....

More signs

The night my mother died the fresh Valentine's Day bouquet of flowers I gave to her....the ONE rose died it was a symbol of her death she loved her flowers and told me not to get her any for her grave to give them to her while she was alive, that I did every Sunday she had a fresh bouquet on her dining room table. Then weird......took my son to the doctor upon leaving he said I don't know if I should tell you this or not, look at that license plate, ok only ONE in the whole state but there it was it said personalized BetteBoop. (Within the 7 or 8 letter limit). My mom collected Betty Boops. Then the moon was a waxing crescent that night just like the Betty Boop moon figurines she had, as if she was up there swinging on a star letting me know she was ok. After we left the luncheon for her funeral there was a sign on the wall Red hat ladies welcome here, she loved her red hats. It's all falling into place. We'd go to Aldi's and scramble for 2 quarters for our grocery carts, and she collected the 50 state quarters, on the floor board of the back seat of my car, there was a quarter, I smile, and laughed. Gran found me a quarter! The minister the funeral home got for us is getting married on July 3, that is my dad's 90th birthday and would have been their 69 wedding anniversary date, quinky dink?

Catching up on signs

So on Feb. 21 my mom's Betty Boop night light quit burning. Odd since I just took her to the store to buy new bulbs for it and we couldn't find the packet of bulbs so we know it was a fresh bulb! This is the Betty Boop swinging on the star light.

My mom loved her blue dryer puff balls. So much that she bought me a set. When I did the drying over there one ball had disappeared, I guess she wanted to take one with her. I have yet to find that ball.

Feb. 22 my cat Cleveland whom my mother doted over found her lost ball that we used to throw and she'd fetch. The thing had been missing for months the lady who made it has since passed also.

Soda Bread

I needed to buy some groceries my mom loved to go to grocery stores so finding one that didn't bring too many painful memories was hard. We decided to go to VG's since it was out by my house and my mom didn't frequent it with me. I would special order her a loaf of soda bread every St. Patrick's Day since they didn't carry it on a daily basis. Ok so Feb. 23rd I walk in and there is a loaf of soda bread, with raisins like we had so loved.....quinky dink? I bought it. Later that evening Bob wanted a slice I said NO it was sacred I wanted to be the first to have some. I had a piece for breakfast the next morning, it was the freshest bread I had ever had. Mom is up there dancing! Sorry Bob.

Gran R.I.P. 02/16/10

My mom passed away in her sleep on Feb. 16, 2010. I have been getting some signs that she is letting me know she is ok. My bf is an Atheist so he thinks I am nuts. I want to keep a blog of what they are. Writing always helped me in the past. I even talk to her, ask her questions, makes me feel better too bad it makes him want to tear up she was MY mom for 55 years!
